Denford to Consall Forge

The Holly Bush, Denford real ale pub is just 5 minutes along the canal by Bridge 38. Serves food from 12 noon to 8.30pm 7 days a week.  A good place to round off your day but don’t forget to bring the boat back first if you are planning on spending the evening in there!

Red Lion, Cheddleton.  A short walk up the hill from Bridge 42 (Cheadle Road).

Black Lion, Cheddleton.  Quarter of a mile walk into the village – from Bridge 42 cross the canal, walk up the hill and turn right into Hollow Lane.

The Old Schoolhouse Tea Rooms, Cheddleton. Half a mile walk into the village – from Bridge 42 cross the canal, walk up the hill, turn right into Hollow Lane and walk past the community centre and the school.  The tea rooms is on the right beyond the school.

Castros Restaurant, Cheddleton.  Canalside between Bridge 42 and Cheddleton Top Lock.  Mexican.  Only open in the evenings from 6pm from Tuesday to Saturday, but another possibility for rounding off your day after you have returned the boat.

Along the Leek Arm

The Wheel – 10 minute walk up the hill from Horse Bridge, bridge 6 on the Leek Arm.

Towards Endon/Stockton Brook

The Plough, Endon.  5 minute walk from Park Lane Wharf.  Walk to the main road (A53) and turn left.

Black Horse, Endon.  10 minute walk from Park Lane wharf.  Walk to the main road (A53) and turn right.
